David Horowitz: "There are 50,000 professors ... [who] identify with the terrorists"
Summary:
On MSNBC's Scarborough Country, right-wing activist David Horowitz claimed that "there are 50,000 professors" who are "anti-American" and "identify with the terrorists."
There are just over 400,000 tenured and tenure-track full-time university professors in the United States. If Horowitz's numbers are accurate, that means approximately one out of every eight tenured or tenure-track college and university professors is a terrorist sympathizer (Source)
In the 1960’s David Horowitz was a Marxist, now he is a Neocon. Given his inability to make a cohesive argument, his departure from the absurd tenants of Carl Marx to a half- baked, myopic Neo-liberal dogma is not suprising.
Once you hear this dolt articulate his illogical, obtuse ravings, you'll likely agree - the Marxists are better off.
But don’t take my word for it, his musing are well documented - Also, here, here and here.
I apologize in advance for my use of Ad Hominem, but I couldn't help myself with this drone.

Good points Bryan, the fundamental tennants of Neo-liberalism are rooted in Trotskism.
I've been meaning to conduct a ehaustive juxtoposition of the two philosophies, but havent' put a side the time yet.
I'll be posting on those topics soon.
Thanks for your comments.
David Horowitz is one of my least favorite people in the universe. Good job of exposing him, and I hope to do the same. Neocons love him because he's trying to turn the whole educational system over to the radical far-right.
Yes he may be over the top, and Al Franken isn't?
I think what he is doing may just be great for both sides.
He has now made it so people on the right are trying to make sure ranting lefties are not out there, in addition the left will monitor for ranting righties (few to count, I am guessing). In the end you will have more eyes on who is teaching, why is that so bad?
If Cindy Sheehan is cheered for protesting Bush and bringing the "truth to light." How can you be so upset with someone that writes a book and speaks out against a problem he perceives?
MD- if you can find a ranting leftie who has as much exposure and is as nutty as this guy, I'll post about him.
So far, there is no equilivant. Franken is sort of an odd ball, but not as far koo-koo as this person.
Typically I don't character assinate, but after seeing him so frequently on the cable news networks, well, I couldn't contain myself.
But again, if you find a leftie who is as nutty and has as much airtime, I'll post on him/her.
Thanks for commenting.
"If you were a Bush voter, Al wants to set aside partisan bitterness and talk about the better future Americans can build together for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. (Generations beyond that will have to fend for themselves.) But first, Al must show you how Republican leaders are, at this very moment, betraying your trust and quite possibly lighting a Cuban cigar with a burning American flag or Bible."
I don't know, but that comment didn't change/budge my mind.
Right now Horowitz is all over the screens because he has a new book out. Franken got just as much (I would debate more) coverage when his book came out.
This is TV, as most studies find the news is a business. You try to find and keep viewers. That doesn't happen by having a dull guest on. The right may want him on because they agree. The left want him on to tear him down.
Obviously he is out there, and he is on FOX here and there but recently he is popping up all over the place. He is an exciting guest with a point of view. Counter it with good guests or debates. If he is so wrong, then he should be able to be proved wrong.
MD - Touche!
Very effective argument.
